How could Muslims follow the dajjal having been warned about him and his evil prior to his existence?

While learning about Al-Masih ad-Dajjal "anti-christ" in my childhood, I used to innocently wonder how would Muslims actually believe/follow him even though they might have read about him and his evil prior to his existence.
That innocent wonder has vanished over time while observing Muslim scholars, activists and intellectuals become apologists for mini-Dajjals.
Today marks another lesson for me to understand that dilemma: while the American empire is slaughtering Muslims and destroying their lives, Western Muslims are romanticizing its mini-Dajjal Obama. If we are easily fooled by Obama's "decent rhetoric," which openly contradicts his actions, how can we resist the miracles of the Dajjal?
